Ben Mulhearn answered on 8 Mar 2018:

It was called EULAR, which stands for ‘European League Against Rheumatism’. Rheumatism is another word for the problems which rheumatologists deal with, like autoimmune diseases. It was in Madrid (lucky me!). 13,000 people went to the conference! I had about 400 people come to my presentation. It is an opportunity to tell people about my research and afterwards quite a few people came up to speak to me about it. That’s how science works – not only do we need to do experiments and write reports, but we have to be able to communicate it to other people, otherwise, what’s the point!?
