      I don’t think there is a definite answer to that. Usually we think in terms of survival after a certain period of time. For example, what’s the percentage of people that survive after 5 years, or after 10 years. And it really depends on the type of cancer. For pancreas cancer the survival is very low, for prostate cancer it is higher.
      According to Cancer Research UK (http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/health-professional/cancer-statistics/survival#heading-Zero), about 50% survive more than 10 years, and that’s a lot better than it used to be.
      One of the big problems with cancer is that there are often no symptoms until the disease is quite advanced. So by the time you notice something is wrong, it becomes difficult to treat.
