Cool question! Cancer happens when normal cells start growing too quickly and dividing out of control. Eventually they form a dangerous tumour. All cells need to grow and divide but there’s normally a complex set of genes that controls this process, making it slow and safe. It’s these growth-control genes which often go wrong during cancer. I try turning them on and off to see how it affects the growth of cancer cells.
