Technically, I’m not directly working on a cure, but on a way of “seeing” the treatment from outside the body.
It’s working quite well at the moment, I’ve been able to see the treatment work in animals without having to do any surgery.
Great question! I’m working on finding the genes that cause a very bad kind of leukemia (blood cancer) called MLL. It hurts a lot of children and can be fatal. We are still in the early stages of searching all the genes in the human body to find ones which matter, but – like detectives searching for a criminal – we have a few leads. Now we need to follow them up! If you become a scientist one day, you could come help 🙂
