Thankfully not! I hope I will never have cancer, but statistically the chances to have cancer once in your lifetime are high (it’s about 50%, you get see the numbers here: http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/health-professional/cancer-statistics/risk)
I am optimistic that we’ll continue to improve cancer treatments, and find ways of detecting cancers earlier.

No I have not been diagnosed with cancer. However a few years ago I participated in a study on brain activity and I had an MRI scan. They found a small lump on my brain. I had a number of follow up scans separated 3, 6 and 12 months apart and this showed no change in the lump size. So it was just a cyst in my brain, which are quite common and if I hadn’t participate in that study I would never have know I had it, as I had no symptoms.

No I haven’t. I have lots of moles on my skin though and I had one on my back which the dermatologist (skin doctor) had to remove – it wasn’t cancer. I didn’t follow the instructions the doctor gave me so now i have a lovely scar on my back that I tell people is a shark bite 🙂

No, luckily. As Francis mentions, the chance of having cancer at some point in your life is high, but this is affected by many things, such as genetics, lifestyle (eating, exercise, smoking) and environment, so not everyone has equal risk. Some causes are definitely preventable and we are discovering new treatments every day.
