I prefer the job now because I get paid more! But in practice it isn’t so different in my case because I do research in a university. I don’t have exams but I have more responsibilities, I am more independent. I also learn new things every day.
I enjoyed the flexibility when i was a student. I could design my own experiments and given free reign in were i wanted to take my research. However, in my job its much less flexible, my work is governed by project time-lines and what the product requires. It doesnt mean i cant experiment and make changes to the process, i just have to be more mindfull of the end goal. I picked my current job as i wanted to feel closer to changing peoples lives with the work that i do.
