      That is a good question, Botox is a very powerful neurotoxin, for cosmetics and medical uses it is diluted to a safe dose (sometimes 1 in 200,000 times). Undiluted it can cause paralysis of the muscles, the toxin can take up to 48hr to take effect. If it effects the muscle of the lungs or the heart then the toxin can be fatal. The danger comes in the dose that is used. It is used in therapeutics to relax the muscle in conditions in which muscles are constantly contracted therefore resulting in immobility, some patients can be blind as they eye muscles have contracted and stay closed. So for these patients botox allows them to walk or even see again
