      BRILLIANT question! It’s really important to think about the next steps when you’re doing research – you should always try to apply the things you learn from doing experiments.

      In my case, I want to use the genes that I discover as potential targets for medicines. If I find a gene which makes the cancer a lot worse, then it may be possible to find a medicine that turns that gene off. By turning the gene off, I may be able to make the cancer better again.
