• Question: During a live chat you said you would like to find out why some people with arthiritis react to a drug better than others. Would you say this could be because of different types of arthiritis?

WHAT A GREAT QUESTION! It’s very possible that this is the case. I deal with rheumatoid arthritis. It is a disease which causes pain, stiffness, and swelling of the small joints of the hands and the feet. We now know that it could actually be a number of different diseases which, as doctors, we call ‘rheumtoid arthritis’. It’s very possible that some drugs don’t work because the underlying disease is different. That’s what I’m trying to find out.
